Bookmark and Share AddThis Feed Button

For business and leisure travelers looking for an ideal place to stay in the Philippines, where everything from restaurants to golf ranges are just around the corner, Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila makes one of the best choices. With rates starting as low as PHP 5,400 per night, you get the luxurious accommodations, uncompromising hospitality, and access to the most exciting spots in the area.

Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila stands right at the heart of Ortigas Center, Quezon City. Among the places it stands close to include:

Wack Wack Golf & Country Club. Crowne Plaza Galleria is merely three kilometers away from the golf range. Founded in 1930, Wack Wack Golf & Country Club is one of the oldest and most prestigious golf ranges in the country. It is easily one of the best golf courses in the world with two championship courses. The club kicks off the annual Asian Circuit every year and hosts a list of other world golf tournaments like the World Cup. Wack Wack Golf & Country Club is a favorite venue for corporate affairs and banquets, business meetings, and even wedding ceremonies.

SM Megamall and The Podium. These two places are a favorite hangout for Filipinos of all ages. They are home to all kinds of shops and establishments, restaurants, as well as night spots. SM Megamall attracts around 800,000 people every day. On the other hand, The Podium caters to the more upscale crowd with its posh restaurants, boutiques, and cinemas. The hotel is only a kilometer away from these malls.

Metrowalk. A kilometer away from the Quezon City hotel stands the Metrowalk, a small but very busy commercial hub in Ortigas, especially at night. It hosts several events, mostly musical, each year. It is a favorite spot for the younger crowd, who frequent its restaurants, comedy bars, and bazaars selling cheap items.

Philsports Arena. The arena is the country’s national sports complex housing the offices of local sports governing bodies including the Philippine Olympic Committee. In 2005, it hosted the badminton events of the Southeast Asian Games. Asian pop group F4 and Barbie Xu drew a record-high attendance during their 2003 Philippine concert.

Eastwood City. The 17-hectare commercial complex is known for its night spots and residential complexes. It is also home to various call centers that have emerged in the country and provided jobs to thousands of Filipinos over the years. Tourists looking for exciting events and parties will surely find that they belong in Eastwood.

Greenhills Shopping Center. Ask any shopper where you could buy clothes, gadgets, appliances, shoes, toys, computers, and other items for low prices and Greenhills is sure to pop up. The complex houses several shops and bazaars that sell goods for very low prices.

From the most high-end shops to budget-friendly shops, everything is within reach if you stay at Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila. If you would like to immerse into history and culture, Intramuros and Rizal Park, 12 kilometers away, are well worth the drive. Araneta Center in Cubao, four kilometers away, is where major concerts and events take place.

After a long day of exploring or a long evening of having fun with newfound friends, Crowne Plaza Galleria Manila is one of the best places to return to. Enjoy Davao’s Kadayawan Festival at Red Knight Gardens
Every August, the city of Davao is a sight to behold because of the annual Kadayawan sa Dabaw Festival. It is a weeklong celebration of the Filipino tribal culture and way of life, as well as a thanksgiving for the abundance of nature’s gifts. The fact that the festival still continues is also a cause for celebration unto itself since it is proof that despite the modernization of the Filipino culture, the Filipinos still pay homage to the roots of their ancestry.

Spectators are treated to a parade of flowers and fruits, a colorful spectacle that is visually appealing and it is recommended that one brings a camera to take photos of the event. You also shouldn’t miss out on the Indak Indak sa Kadalanan, which is when the performers wear colorful costumes while dancing on the street. This tribal dancing is accompanied by upbeat, rhythmic music that makes you want to dance along with the performers. The festival also includes a trade fair, the Ms. Kadayawan beauty contest, and even more singing and dancing.

If you’re planning to join the celebration, the best place to stay is at the Red Knight Gardens. It is located ten minutes from the airport, so weary travelers who arrive by plane will be able to rest after their trip.
